Damir Doma Fashion Show - Menswear Spring/Summer Collection 2018 (with interview)

Designer: Damir DomaCollection: Menswear and Womenswear Spring/Summer 2018A wardrobe comprising numerous motifs with laid-back allure and worked materials. Additional references to urban fashion, and sportswear. To note: Flowing shirts which add new dimensions of volume, the mixture of stripes, large shorts, bombers with gathered sleeves, and jogging bottoms emblazoned with the brand’s graphic logo, elaborated in collaboration with the Italian label, Lotto.+ The heterogeneous cast (made up of the designer’s friends) is the very image of the collection, diverse while highlighting individuality.Focus on: Geometric patterns inspired by North Africa. The new sunglasses created in partnership with Mykita, and bronze jewellery conceived with Slim Barrett.Interview: Damir Doma: Generally, my work is always about materials, so material construction, material creation, and it’s obviously about volume, which goes hand in hand, but I think especially this season it was a lot about the idea of a collector, a traveler, somebody who wanders around the world and takes bits and pieces left and right and recreates his own identity. The casting is a mix. Most of the people are friends of mine, or collaborators of mine, or people who I met in the last few years. It’s a very intimate and personal show, today. I think diversity is a good word.I inserted three new collaborations in the collection: a collaboration with the Italian sportswear brand, Lotto. We do a collaboration with a beautiful shoes manufacturer called Officina Creativa. I did some jewellery with a jeweler from London called Slim Barrett and we have some new styles of Mykita glasses, so I think that all this really helped to make the silhouette also, as I said before, more realistic.Music of the show (only to be used in the context of the show, protected by the right to information)
