Designer : andreas melbostadsilhouette : urban and inspired by ninja outfits and japan. the hybrid blousons half kimono half biker jackets. the protective clothing, the outerwear pieces and the trousers belted with a cord. the denim and the leather, signatures of the label, are reinterpreted in a chic and contemporary spirit. to note: the patches which take their place on certain pieces of clothing and the feminine silhouettes with a many pleats which complete the diesel black gold collection. interview with andreas melbostad :the idea was this kind of urban ninja attitude, infused into the diesel black gold dna, so taking our iconic pieces like our bomber jacket, biker jacket and giving it like a kimono, east meets west feeling. i love this idea that you take something that everybody knows and loves and wears, and you give it a new interpretation so you have this sense of recognition in the piece, but there’s also a new twist to it, for me it’s something that i revisit every season, i think it’s very true to the dna that renzo has built, every season we look at denim of course, we look at leather, we look at outerwear we look at very iconic inspirations like bikers and military workwear attitude, so again you have all these elements in this collection but its channeled differently with this idea of ninja samurai feeling that gives it a silhouette and symbols like the monograms or the flowers in the collection, but also like the necklines and the design features like that. music from the show (only to be used in the context of the show, protected by the right to information.)
