Artistic director: jean-charles de castelbajacinspiration: after the return of its founder, luciano benetton who took back control of his company at the end of 2017, the french designer presented his first men’s and women’s show for benetton for next autumn/winter named “rainbow machine”, opening milan fashion week. a way to highlight the essential colours of the brand and a tribute to the innovative industrial production at benetton, with knitting machines and its artisans in action at the centre of the podium as the decoration for the show with various colourful bobbins.collection: the primary colours of a rainbow was the starting point for this recognisable new identity by castelbajac with puffa jackets, denim and wool on multi-coloured boots. the letters making up the word benetton are muddled up along with stripes and diamond shapes printed on clothes. the green label of the brand is also printed in different dimensions. knit is omnipresent in the collection through dresses, enveloping jumpers and tights. denim is loose and appears on shirts and jackets. there are multiple propositions of outerwear such as quilted sweaters, short parkas and jackets and of course the duffle coat. energy, sportswear, comfort and a pop universe mixed with mickey and snoopy livens up some items.note: must-have accessories such as big scarves, hats, ushankas, boots and sunglasses.+ the duo sat on the front row, the photographer oliviero toscani and the founder luciano benetton.music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
