Designers: marta marques and paulo almeidainspiration: diversified women. in a room with many large screens projecting various images of the world (from a blue sky to factory chimneys) and just before the show, several female speeches were filmed from those who will parade on the catwalk, telling us what they would like to pass on to their daughters and future generations.a casting of various women for a collection ultimately rather glamourous and couture.collection: accomplished and sought after. the duo explores the idea of volume, through a sublime black top with large ruffles that opens the show, loose skirts, bustier ballgowns or taffeta coats, reminiscent of balenciaga while being, according to the designers, a reference to hollywood in the 50’s.denim is highlighted, with its raw edges, plain or accompanied by floral designs. the duo likes to counterbalance their pieces with silk pyjama sets, a deconstructed shirt and some prints. to note: some masculine looks + slingback shoes with feathers.with interviews:paulo almeida:the main mission is to empower the girls and i think they just feel that they have a big house for them and they feel empowered to be in a big house. i think that’s the main goal.marta marques we’re parents of a little girl and soon to be a second one and it’s important for us that we empower these girls and we make fashion a more inclusive and a more diverse place for everyone to grow in, so that’s what it is about and it is quite deep and important for us. there’s a kind of 50’s hollywood vibe. we had like 50’s la but in a slightly kind of creepy weird way because it’s always a bit deconstructed for us.paulo almeida:one of the girls is called esme chapman, one of her friends took a picture of her and it looks pretty much like a hollywood kind of like actor back in the days from the 50’s or something like that and it’s this kind of an amazing, cool 50’s vibe then we just mixed all this influence from 50’s couture with the punk elements that we loved from london. music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
