Creative director: casey cadwalladerinspiration: the sensual mugler woman, with a casting of different women, of all ages and body types, including bella hadid who opens the show, and karen elson. collection: stockings, bra tops and corsets all made in a new stretchy material, making them suitable for all body shapes.the jackets have large shoulders and the skirts have cut outs on the side, revealing glimpses of coloured tights. jets of paints on the dresses and bodysuits shown on a trio of girls. frills decorate the silk satin dresses. to note: the hair jewellery ending in long chains like fringes.+ washable sandals+ jeans with a big zipperinterview with casey cadwallader:for me, mugler is about clothes but it’s also about people, it’s about culture, it’s about being open minded, being there to make people confident. these are people that inspire me and i want to be there to give them things, to make their day as good as it can be, make them feel their identity, make them feel strong, make them feel hot.i think mugler has always been a very sexual brand and i think for me i really wanted to try to do it my way, which is really about the people. clothes work, clothes do things, and through new fabric technology we are able to make these beautiful stretchy garments that can fit all different people. it’s good that everyone can buy fashion, i don’t think that fashion should just be for models, it should be for everyone. i’m always somewhere between doing old couture technique and doing sport technique. so, everything in the archive that’s a corset is fixed, you put it on, you lace it in and you can’t breathe and you can’t sit down and everything that i’m making is stretch. so, it does the same thing, it still shapes your body but when you are actually in the corset you can actually breathe which is i think more like real life and i think it’s about bringing these influences from couture and body shaping into clothes that are easier to wear. music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
