Designer: david komainspiration: on the 42nd floor of the leadenhall building, in the financial district, next to the famous skyscraper, the gherkin. a view of all of london for the designer who celebrates his hometown, where he has lived for 20 years, in a very personal collection. collection: a mix of genres, materials and styles. david koma celebrates london in his own way, between sportswear and couture. the cyclist is highlighted, in leather, printed with city motifs or embroidered with jewels. precious embroidery that the designer adds to many pieces, as much on jumpers, bras and jackets as evening dresses. the predominantly black sheath dresses always have this sensual spirit, with asymmetric cuts, supported shoulders and the idea of a bustier or corset revisited.houndstooth is reinterpreted in different colours, through more urban outfits.to note: the socks, belts and prints with the word “london”.interview : this particular collection is very personal because it was inspired by the city that i’ve lived in for almost two decades, a city that i was dreaming about, a city that realised my dreams and a city that i love.actually the pictures that you see are the view from my office of the city and it was kind of a juxtaposition, you are wearing a building that you are walking inside and there were a couple of looks like that and with the cycling shorts and couture elements because we lifted the development of the embroidery to the next level and those pieces were quite unique and we enjoyed working on them. this is how i feel about london as well because it’s a unique city where the juxtaposition of everything is possible, the more you mix the more rights you get, you just need to be honest and chilled about whatever you do and it works and that’s why i love this city so that’s why the combination of different kinds of music together with extremely haute couture, extremely tailored, an ode to the tradition and heritage and the modern society of cycling, pieces that girls need every day no matter who they are, no matter where they are and just kind of mixing it together in the most common girl way that was possible. music from the show (to use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information)
